Extra Bored Move, independent digital toolmaker. We build boring tools that recede, so minds surface. When a bicycle works well, you stop thinking about the machine and simply move. If it demands your attention, you can safely conclude that it is broken. Our tools must recede into the background, boring enough to ask nothing of your attention.
If you like our tools or need your own digital hammer and chisel, reach out by email or find us on Instagram.
Rhizo is a scratchpad for nonlinear thinking, made for moving thought toward unlikely places. It blends note-taking and mind mapping. As thought unfolds in writing, you can [1] connect texts, [2] read and edit connected texts together, and [3] meander through their links.
The person behind EBM. I’m a toolmaker and founder based in Seoul. I explore good human–computer gestalts in an (unfortunate) era in which intelligence is so readily available, like tap water, and the human role (or its value) is being questioned.
With an academic background in industrial design and HCI research, I’ve published papers and (co-)founded three startups as CPO or product lead, building tools for [1] sketchers, [2] digital archivists, and [3] writers.
